salubrious

salubrious
salubrious, salutary
Both words are derived from the Latin word salus meaning ‘health’. Salubrious essentially means ‘giving health’ and hence also ‘pleasant, agreeable’

• (The Prince of Wales bestowed a polite eye upon her, then turned to the rather more salubrious prospect of his favourite savoury —A. Myers, 1992)

whereas salutary means ‘producing healthy effects’ and hence ‘beneficial’, usually in an admonitory context in association with words such as effect, lesson, and reminder

• (More generally comes a salutary warning that is well worth taking on board, that ‘it is to the undying shame of the Scottish people that wild fish in Scotland are in a precarious state’ —Scotland on Sunday, 2006).
